It's from last year's world cup, and yes, it stands for wives and girlfriends (of the England footballers). The inference being that they are all like the footballers wives from the tv show of the same name, glamorous, shopping all the time and a bit thick, I think.

They are a boring bunch, fat too mcuh make up and false. I had the unfortunate pleasure of being at the same venue Peter crouch was celebrating his Birthday on Saturday the players are lovely but the girlfriends, alot to be desired. Abby Clancey walked past us on the stairs and just expected us to move out of the way for her . Mind you Steve Finan is gorgeous!
