Sorry to sound like a retard but I haven't got my manual and I have no idea how to open the bonnet and I need to refill the water thing that washes the windscreen.

Thanks

I don't know but on our ford, you twist the ford badge on the front grill and then use your keys.

That's the way I open mine too.

There may be bonnet release catch inside ?

BTW, 'retard' is a horrible word, please refrain.

Does it open via a key? A ford focus has to be opened by a key, turn the ford badge and it may reveal a slot for a key.(the ignition key) Just don't lay the key inside the bonnet!

itsmeNDP · 25/01/2007 12:57

yes, mine is a focus, not a Ka, should've pointed that out

Once key is turned, you also have to flip the release catch. run your hand under bonnet lid.

I don't have a focus, but drove one on my driving lessons!

I have already tried flipping the ford thingy on the front and it's not there. Neither are there any discernible levers on the inside.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Have been wondering how you are getting on.
No more ideas, sorry.
Bumping for you.

On our Ford (but not a Ka) there's a red lever that you pull down hidden at the base of the steering wheel (follow steering wheel down underneath as far as you can go).
Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase if its not there, but wirth a try.
I'd phone a Ford dealer and ask them (I often phone and do the 'pathetic woman' act for help with finding car things.

I drive a ka - but not the sporty streetka. and it is directly under the steering column.
