it is actually for my sister. She has been incapacitated now for a few years after having PND after 2 close pregnancies. She now feels ready for work, & had an interview yesterday. She wants to stop incapacity benefit wether she gets the job or not as she feels she needs to be out working & feels ready. She called incapacity plave & they told her to put it in writing that she no longer wishes to claim. I could do it if I felt up to it today, but basically my brain has stopped working...... would be great if someone could use some big word

Dear Sir / Madam,

I hereby give notice that I wish to stop claiming Incapacity Benefit as of 24th January 2007, as I now consider myself no longer incapacitated and am ready to return to work.
I would be grateful if you could let me know in writing when the appropriate action has been taken.

Yours faithfully,

I can have a go for you...

Dear xxxxx

I am writing you with regard to my current claim for incapacity benefit. As you are aware, I began my claim after suffering from Post Natal Depression, during which time I was unable to work.

I now feel that after xxxyears of treatment/councelling (whatever medication/treatment she had) that I am fully able to return to work and stop claiming incapacity benefit. I have already applied for work and been to an interview, and am hoping to continue until I am placed in appropriate employment.

I would therefore be grateful if you would cancel my benefit with immediate effect.

yours...........

Don't know if that's any good or you want it a bit more elaborate?
