I know it's after the fact now but I just have to say I'm fairly shocked how personal the insults have gotten on this thread. If it's just taking the p what's with all the intelligence cracks? If someone isn't a fantastic speller or heavily into literature that makes them stupid or a bad parent in some way? That is the height of ignorance.
Insulting something or someone because you don't understand it or them is exactly how the ridiculous Jade fiasco started. Just look how clever she came across.
My ds is a model because it gets us out of the house, interacting with creative people (I studied photography as a hobby so find that facet interesting) and it puts money away for him for when he gets older. He's been modelling since last September and already has a very healthy bank account. Also I have a record of beautiful professional photographs of him as he grows and have a wonderful scrapbook to show him when he's older (and his future girlfriends I'm sure ).
He loves the attention and having his photo taken at the moment but as soon as he's not into it when he gets older I will stop, but while he's a baby it's a fantastic way to meet new people and not be stuck in the house on mumsnet every day, or going to a wretched gossipy mum and tots group, talking about other people.
