Hi I am tryingto collect an english coin for each year I've been around for sd I know but it is becoming an obsession I have two years missing and was wondering if anyone who had collection of copper could help the missing years are 1972 and 1983

Just been through a milk tin 3/4 full of coppers but no coin from 72 sorry.
Loads from 71 which is a bit weird.

Hope you find one. You do realise that i'll be constantly checking everytime i get some change now

I have two coins from '83 and like Nutty, loads from '71 but no '72! sorry.

You might all want to check you are not sending 1983 2p's with New Pence written on the back as these can be worth a couple of hundred pounds!!

In 1972 there were no circulation issues printed just proof issues - take a look at this

Thanks that explains why I can't find one - also Kid is sending me a penny for 1983 I presume because it's not 2p it will just be normal - I did not realise 2p's could be that valuable it might explain why I've had trouble locating any coins for those years. Many thanks again to anyone who has looked for me.
