I find slowing down slightly and pressing on the stitch with my hand gets rid of it pretty sharpish.

Breathe more.Deeply and slowly and carry on (gently)
I take it as a sign that muscles not getting enough oxygen.

I found cutting down the water prior to running helps.

Stretching arm on that side up and holding it tight with other hand helps a bit. oh yes and deep breathing.

You do look a bit silly on the treadmill in the gym with one hand up in the air though.

try and breathe thru your nose and out of your mouth and then you wont get a stitch as its lack of oxygen going inside your body

i usually eat a banana before any exercise with some water and that's stopped me getting stitches (i could be lucky though..)

when i did get them, especially while walking, i'd (not hard) grab and twist (some pressure, but not hurting) and bend over. that usually got rid of them for me..

slow down but keep moving
breathe deeply and slowly
that's what i do. hadn't thought about the water thing.
