my dd wants a pen pal

my 10 year old dd thought it would be nice to write to someone from a different country.
is there a safe way of finding her a pen pal?
i have no idea were to start.

does your dd's school have an exchange programme?? might be a start if they have contact with a school in another country...

I've a 10-year-old German niece, who I'm sure can manage simple-ish letters in English. CAT me if you like, and I can ask her.

When I was in school we used a scheme called IYS (International Youth Service )I think. I made some good friends through it and still write to one of them 18 years later.
