Are you going through a mid life crisis?

I'm doing some research into the idea for my university dissertation:

• How would you define a midlife crisis? Is it an identity crisis, recapturing youth through materialistic needs e.g. buying cars, expensive stuff etc.
• Has anyone been through/going through one? or know someone who is? What's it like?
