Selling a large Japanese Maple, where do I start:?

Have had someone round to look at re-doing the garden today, he suggested that if sold my Japanese Maple would be worth £400-500!

This would rather nicely offset some of the costs of doing up the garden and as it does obscure the view of the garden a bit it seems like a good idea. But where do I start selling a 5ft tall by 4ft wide shrub? Have searched Google but not come up with anything. I suppose I need a posh London landscape gardeners, advice please. R

To start with I've just emailed 4 north london landscape gardeners to see if there's any interest. R

Try loot.com, it's great for selling anything.

Where I used to work they moved one with a great big digger thing that scooped it up. That was worth probably abit more but cost about £400+ just to move it about 50 yards if that. Dont know anything about how to sell one though.

Rhiannon

If you want to sell it direct to someone else then eBay or another auction site may be an answer.

If you try to sell it this way though be careful about who has to pay for the removal of it from your garden, otherwise you could end up out of pocket.

Thanks for the thoughts, have had no reply from landscape gardener. Will have a look at ebay. R

Rhiannon, try Gardenstyle.co.uk I think they are part of the Forest Lodge Nursery group in Farnham, Surrey, next to Birdworld. They sell large specimens so they have to buy them from somewhere! Do keep making enquiries, as to its worth as I remember seeing a japanese maple possibly at this place for no less than £8,000. It was about twice the size of yours though.

Good Luck
