offered work as sessional lecturer - anyone else working in this way?

Curious as to how it works. Do you know what you are going to teach each term from the start or do you just get told last minute like temping? How does it work for you?

What sort of institution will you be working at? College of FE? Uni? You should normally know asap what you will be teaching (but it all depends on the management and how well they're organised , but in my long experience you could be called in at the last minute. I am a language co-ordinator and also teach p/t. If you teach in adult ed, then I am sure I can answer your questions more fully.
just make sure you get a contract and that you get your holiday entitlement too.
