Don't know if this is common knowledge and I'm the last to find out, but you don't have to type www into website addresses any more - just the name of the site (eg mumsnet.com or ebay.co.uk.)

Will save us all - oooh - minutes every year!

OMG, never thought of that, sorry, twiggy (and www!)

Should I start another thread? "No more WWW, don't panic, not wickedwaterwitch, worldwideweb!"?

I thought of wickedwaterwitch too!

gothicmama · 31/05/2004 17:34

and me

marthamoo · 31/05/2004 18:12

Janh, you mean mumsnet isn't your home page? I'm shocked!

aloha · 31/05/2004 18:12

I thought somebody had offended Wickedwaterwitch and she had flounced!! Eek!

BTW Janh, I didn't know that either.

Flip · 31/05/2004 18:55

Mumsnet last 25 is my homepage but unfortunatley not dh's so I still have to type it in on his.

papillon · 31/05/2004 19:11

I thought world wide wrestling.. and that some poor mum was sick of her kids watching it or something!

coppertop · 31/05/2004 19:12

I thought it was Wickedwaterwitch announcing a name change!

prufrock · 31/05/2004 19:46

Me too coppertop - cos I know she would never be able to leave Mumsnet

Tinker · 31/05/2004 20:22

Oh, I panicked then! Don't do that Jan. Erm, I've never typed www in though - should I have done?

sis · 31/05/2004 20:29

Sorry but i thought it was the 'wicked' one too but relieved to know that I too will save minutes every year

LunarSea · 31/05/2004 22:07

Um - actually that's true in most cases, but not necessarily so (techy reasons I won't go into here). You'll occasionally find some where it doesn't work - try it with jojomamanbebe.co.uk for example.

WideWebWitch · 02/06/2004 07:55

Ha ha, no, didn't know this janh and no, I haven't flounced or name changed or died. And you're quite right prufrock, I'm too badly addicted to leave. In fact, I have more time to spend here now I'm unemployed again

katierocket · 02/06/2004 07:56

I thought exactly the same, I thought you were going to be reborn www after your hideous work experience with Tosser McToss

Ghosty · 02/06/2004 08:18

So relieved you are still with us WWW ... MN just wouldn't be the same without you
