I don't need to feel guilty do I?

Dh has the 'day off' today (from work!).

So he's just gone out now to pick up ds2 (4) and ds1 (5) from school and he's taken ds3 with him (2). He's going straight to the gym where they have to hang around in the cafe for about half an hour before getting ds2 and ds1 ready for their swimming lesson, hanging around for half an hour while they have the lesson and then getting them dressed again after. All this while manning ds3.

I know how hard it is to keep them from running off in the carpark, from running riot in the cafe, from stopping ds3 jumping in the pool while you are sorting the other two out.

I do it every week on my own so, y'know, it's doable! Why do I feel evil for letting him go on his own?

I'm almost going to go out and meet him to help - but I need a break. Can't I have a break for a couple of hours?

It'll do him good to realise how hard it all is. Definately leave him to it and then make him a nice cuppa when he gets back!

Of course you can have a break.
And there's no point having it if you feel guilty about it so go and do something just for you.
Enjoy it and enjoy DH's undisguised admiration when he comes back with the knowledge of how hard it is to manage 3 at the swimming pool on your own.

You have my absolute permission to not feel guilty and don't you dare go out and meet him . My dp just took dd (4) to his hospital appt so i could have a break and just have 8wk old dd left behind with me .

Hmm, y'see I could have kept ds3 here making it easier for him but I made out I am busier than I really am

Now I'm thinking, what if he can't cope and one of them gets run over

Am a right saddo I know, but I cant' help it! I'm not worried about dh struggling I'm worried about something bad happening (not that it ever has and it's not the first time he's been out with all 3 of them).

did he survive it then?
