if like on my vauxhall when you change the battery in your car key it needs 're-programming' .. then just hold down the lock button and turn your ignition on and it should cycle through the lock - unlock and re-programme your key

that cost me £70 to find out

but I give it to you for free

cos that's the kind of marmite snack I am

ALSO: If you let your babba play with your key fob and they press the buttons too many times, the key de-programmes itself and won't open your car remotely... I assume for safety in the case of a key thief randomly wanding round a multi-storey trying to find the right car..?

Anyway, I've got a VW and it happened to me, rant the VW garage fully expecting to have to buy a new battery or whole key fob and the nice chap on the phone told me to open the car manually and start the car to re-programme it. Yay!
