am currently on BT for phone and broadband - my bills are about £170 a quarter. they also charge my an extra £2 a bill as i wont go to DD. that really pees me off.

looking at changing to Talk Talk and it seems it will by £20 a month for phone and line rental and broadband will be free. so will then be £60 a quarter.

can it be really that simple ?? advice please.

hi mysonsmummy .. what makes up the £170? .. if it's made up of other call charges etc, then see if you will save with talk talk .. (£170 is a lot!)
i've been having lots of hard selling by talk talk recently, by phone, letter and at door! they seem to be good and cheap .. you get free evening and w/e calls too don't you? .. but i'm still sat here with bt and tiscali .. hmm
sorry that wasn't much help was it? .. i'm tired and going to bed now .. so not being rude if i don't answer

we changed from bt to talktalk mainly for the broadband back in august and after A LOT of faffing, sending us broken modems etc about a month after our change over/go-live date we had an excellent b.band service and phone service. our speed is only 1.1Mbps out of a potential 8 but i think that is to do with our area, central scotland.

as far as price is concerned, all our calls are free to landlines including many international no.s (if you remember to dial a prefix which i didn't. D'oh!) and they have an equivalent of friends and family discount for mobiles etc.

SO, after much rambling, i am glad we changed as our bill has gone down but that is largely due to no dial up internet calls.
Ta-da!!! hth
(oh shld also say that their customer service is, IMO, not as good as BTs, lots of outsourced call centres with little or no communication between depts so you have to keep giving all your details again and again and again if you are trying to resolve a problem...

We went to talk talk, and now back with BT, don't go there!

got a letter from BT today i will now be charged £4.50 BBand and £2.00 for phone extra becos i will not pay by direct debit.

so i did it - changed to talk talk.

they now give you 30 days from time BB connected for you to change your mind and not pay a thing.

will keep you informed.
