dd has a friend here, invited for tea.
butas we were leaving school her mum said "X said she's not hungry and will probably not need anything to eat, so don't worry if she doesn't want any."
X is standing there stuffing Haibos in her mouth, she has a big bag ful, gobble, gobble. When we were in the car I suggested she put them away 'otherwise she definilely wouldn't want any tea' i said it with a smile and she put them in her bag. As we pulled up she was sneaking another one. her bag is now in the kitchen and after hearing her twice go in for another i've quietly put them in the cupboard.
have i done right?
if she asks for them i was going to say 'oh ds might eat them so i've put them in a safe place for you.'
whaqt do you reckon?

I would have done that too - presummably her Mum gave her the sweets, bit out of order IMO as you had invited her for tea.

i'm feeling better about it already. thanks.

I think you done the right thing too, she is obviously hungry otherwise why would she gobble all those sweets down? I wouldn't worry and if she asks for them tell her what you said.

Sounds perfectly ok to me. A few weeks ago this site was littered with women who had eaten their children's easter eggs!! A few less sweets so she eats some food sounds like a decent thing to do!

Yup, I agree. And anyway, it's not fair on your dd to have her friend gussling sweets by herself when she's invited for tea. Quite rude, in fact.
