How much does a hard drive and RAM cost (if you get it somewhere like a computer fair)

and do either of these sound like it's worth getting given the costs involved in making them 'useable' (I'd want to use either of them for internet access in the long term)

17 inch CRT monitor with speakers in working order

compaq deskpro pc pentium 2 266 Mhz (no hardrive) cd rom and floppy
drive, usb ports and onboard sound and parallel printer port, video
adapter card.....may be useful to someone as a second pc.

a midi tower pc, pentium 2, 266 Mhz, has usb ports, onboard sound and
parallel printer port, video adapter card, needs a hard drive and ram
to get started.

no hard drive = no software , so could be expensive to get up and running

we have both Windows 2000 and XP CD's here at home plus some other bits of software (not sure what they are offhand).
