It supposedly takes it off when you "place your order". There did appear to be an error (a red triangle or something) which appeared on the page after I entered the code but when I clicked there, it had all the details of the offer (although it said it finished on the 12th!)

Yes. It took them a good 24 hours or so though. I had 1 "your message has been received" email followed by one which was irrelevant to my query which I had to reply to followed by one which said they'd refunded my card.
