have ordered tiles for new bathroom and I'm beginning to think I should have gone for vinyl, we have solid wood floor in the lounge and dd 19mths has had some falls on it and cut lip a few times, what does everyone else have and do you immediately think child friendly option or what looks best

vinyl would be a bit 'softer' on her for a while i guess...

have just bought wood floors for entire house (just about) and have youngest of 11m who falls over a lot, so im no better than you

maybe vinyl in the bathroom (which is a place where slip-ups happen often) for a couple of years, then tiles after that?

(im putting vinyl or rubber or something in the bathroom the kids wil use too)

We have vinyl, it is warmer than tiles and things are less likely to smash if you drop them than on tiled floor.

Also it is easy to clean but can disguise mess for longer. It was also cheaper and easy to lay on our slightly uneven floor.

Got some laminate stuff from B&Q that copes with water and looks like terracotta tiles. It's been down nearly 5 years and still looks fine

We love lino - not too expensive, and a natural product. Not everyone does though. Ours, in our bathroom, is a huge success.
