Today I got an unexpected call from the police telling me that they were at my friends house which had been burgled.

My friends are on holiday in the Grand Canaria were contacted by the police about the break in. As I have keys to their house they told the police to call me to help check and secure the place.

The glass in the back door had been smashed in, and the house ransacked. Computer gone, jewellery gone and a cash card gone.

The thing that has upset me the most is that these people have been violated, their home damaged and property stolen. For what? A couple of hundred pounds.....

I was able to get the door boarded up and secured then I tidied up. My friends now they had been burgled but I felt that they didn't need to see it. I closed the drawers, moved the furniture back, cleared up the glass and vacuumed up the muddy footprints which were all over the carpet.

This scumbag will probably never be caught or punished. It is just not fair. Don't know if I have a point but just needed to vent!!

Superloopy - you sound like a good friend to be doing all the clearing up for your friends. What a pain for them, but you doing the clearing up will help them.

Thanks. Having been burgled before I know how awful it is to see what someone else a complete stranger has done. They didn't need to see that. Plus they have a 2yr old DS and friend is 5mths pg. Annoys me when bad things happen to good people!

CB - Stealing a child piggy bank is the lowest. Having to explain about theft to an innocent child is awful. I hope you were able to replace everything.

yes sl they are scumbags and unfortunately will probably not be caught. How awful for your friends and for you too.

A friend of my mothers recently had her bag stolen from the ladies toilet in a department store, she reported the incident and went home. On her return she got a call from their customer service department informing her that they'd found the bag and contents and asked her to return to the store. She went but they had no knowledge of the call. On her return, she discovered that her house had been completely ransacked - the thieves had gone to her home when she was out!

OMG! What evil twisted people they are, i just hope that one day they get their homes violated and realise just how it feels.
