Hi, hope you don't mind me putting a shout out for you. I think I read on a thread earlier in the week that you had been for a 4D scan- hope I'm not imagining it! Just wondered where you went?

I'm in Norfolk and trying to find the best and nearest place to get to.

Bear in mind I'm pregnant so I've probably totally made up you having a scan and living in Norfolk.

Well remembered, yes I'm in Norfolk and yes I've had a 4d scan. I went to Ipswich (I'm in Diss so Norwich as near as Ipswich for me) a place called A4d Baby.

Oh thank goodness I hadn't made that up. I vaguely remembered seeing you on a thread about Wagamammas in Norwich and then saw you on a 4D scan thread and took me about a week to put the two together.

You've actually reassured me somewhat, the place you mention is the place I am thinking of going- nearish and reasonably priced- thought I might have missed something closer. I don't think there's anything closer.

Would you recommend it? Happy with the outcome.

Well, we were a bit disappointed with the result if I'm totally honest but I think our expectations were too high. The baby was in a poor position so it took ages to get a shot of her face, although we did eventually get a few in the last 5 mins or so. The images were also a bit more blurred than the publicity photos on the website.

Overall though it was a fab experience and I'd do it again. The dvd was great, we showed it to our parents as they've never seen an actual scan and that was nice (although pil were a bit odd about it!)

I could e-mail you some of my photos if you like so you can judge for yourself.

Oh, and I think Wagamamma is over rated as well!

Would you mind emailing me some pics? Don't go to any trouble and no rush, only 21/22weeks so got some time. Did you already know the gender or did you see it on the scan? We couldn't see at our NHS 20wk scan and would like to find out. Didn't get any pics at the NHS scan either as the baby just would not turn round or play the game. Stubborn like its Dad or chaste like its Mum.

PS agree about Wagamammas, only been once and it was a bit like my school canteen. Not an atmosphere I was particularly keen to recreate but lots of people seem to love it.

Yes, I can CAT, do you want to drop me a line so I have your address and I'll forward the pictures. (I don't think I can attach a photo to an initial cat but could be wrong) I don't mind, I'm keen to show her off as much as possible

We found out the sex at the 20 weeks scan but asked for it to be confirmed at the 4d scan so we're in no doubt now. Neither of my girls were chaste, both happy to adopt very unladylike poses!

You're going to have your hands full in a few years time!

Got them. I love the second one- looks like she is gesticulating at you in a 'come off it, I'm busy' sort of way. I see what you mean about not looking exactly like the ones on the site, but still pretty incredible compared to 2D scanning.

Now this is going to sound really strange and stalker-like but I think you're the reason I was thinking of going to this scanning place anyway. I've been looking for a place that does 4D scans somewhere close for a few days and was thinking of going to Peterborough, Cambridge of Milton Keynes if I couldn't find anything else. Had a last google today for something like 4D scans norwich and found a site where somebody described having a scan in Ipswich (how I knew there was a place in Ipswich!). If it's not you, they have the same name as you! Bit freaked out by that! Is it you? If it is you your DD1 has such a beautiful name. One of the women on my May antenatal thread has the same name picked out for a girl. Lovely! If it's not you then I'm a rambling idiot. Feel free to ignore!

Cheers for the email, think I'm going to cajole DH a bit and see if we can book a slot. Hey, I'm making slings this weekend so saving a few pounds there, I think we can splash out! And if I knit lots of clothes for the baby and...er... stop eating like a woman starved

How odd, I think I've only talked about it on here on the thread you saw. Dd's name begins with 'W', is it the same one?

Their 2d scan machine is pretty amazing too, far more detailed than the nhs one. We went for the most expensive package with all the photos but, tbh, the photos were a bit small. If I did it again I'd just get the cd and dvd and print off my own pics.

Oooooh, just googled and found it, it all becomes clear! It's that Historymatters blog thingie. For a day in October people were asked to write a diary for the day and I did it (along with a few other people from here iirc) because it happened to be the day I went for my 20 week scan. The web can be frightening sometimes!

I know what you mean. I sometimes wonder what's going to come back and haunt me one day when my boss eventually works out what it is I do all day at work and reads my posts.

Still can't decide what we want at the scan. I'd like to know the gender and would like a couple of pics so could go for the cheapest option on there really. Would make DH happy too. If we went 2D I could go earlier too and I'm very impatient to find out the sex. I was convinced I'd know by now and the suspense is killing me. I can't not squeeze Christmas presents, this is like an elaborate torture.

I might give them a ring and see what they recommend.

I'd go for the cheapest 4d package I think. They scan you in 2d then use some special software to turn it into a 4d image so you get both kinds.
