lactulose is what we use when ds is really bad - you can get it from the chemist.

Is it a long term thing or a one off?

Lepicol (the kids version) is fantastic. its a powder which you add to water/juice or cold food.
I find the drink is very "bitty" and hard to drink. Its much easier to take if mixed with yogurt or fruit puree.

it contains a very soluble, gentle form of fibre, and lots of good bacteria for the gut.

I give it to my almost-5 yr old every now and then and It always works well.

you get it in a health shop.

long term i reckon, goes in phases of good and bad, but basically an issue and has been for a while..

Also make sure she's drinking plenty of fluid. Exercise helps too (although a bit late for that now!)

ds is wheat/gluten intolerent and when he has something with one of those in he gets it bad.

Have you tried keeping a food diary and record of how much she is drinking etc to see if there's a link?

i do keep an eye on fluids because she is inclined not to drink enough. a food diary is a good idea.
