Making a scarecrow: anyone know how?

Hello all,
I tried making a scarecrow with my daughter, for our allotment, thought it was going to be super easy but it's not! It's surprisingly difficult...
Has any of you any idea how to make one? Will google in a minute but thought I'd run it by you wise mumsnetters!

Have not a clue but would stuff clothes and put wood post through them and stick something round on top for head and a hat and paint a face

hmmm, yes, that's what I thought too, and tried , but all just kept falling apart, so guess I need more practical advice really, but thanks all the same for replying Gothicmama.

I think you want normalish clothes but stitch up wrists and legs and attach top to bottom - then stuff with straw. (Possibly put stakes through first.)
