Car stereo question.............

My stereo stopped working a few days ago. Dead as a door knob when I got in the car.
I think it coincides with dp coming in and saying Oooeeeerr your cars got an immobiliser on it...the buttons under the dash or something.
Would him pressing that button kill my stereo?
Got an old cassette one in it just now temporarily, its working fine.

hahah don't know my stereo comes on and off it drives me bonkers!!

(btw i got an invitation from my dr to attend a stop smoking clinic) it was done like a proper party invitation!

Back to the car...failing it having an on button what would I press, usually it just came on with the car

Oh ive tryed the volume button, gently, holding it, ramming it...etc...no life in it at all!

If you take it to a dealer, they might be ab;le to fiddle with it.

I sympathise, I really do. If my car stereo wweren't there, I'd be in prison for smome road rage related crime

dps looked at the fuse, apparently not. It wont switch on, even if i had a code.. >
This is shite.
I do have a cassette one on as a temp measure, but my tapes are from 1988 and before...hmmm

This might be a bit stupid

But are the switches that DP played with back on.

XP2 told me a lot about car radios. He told me that there are 2 live wires. 1 is live all the time. (this is for the preset stations) and the other 1 goes live when the engine is running.(turn the keys so the dash lights come on or something)the radio goes on and off with that wire. maybe your radio is on the wire that is live all the time. whereas your other one is working with the key wire.

If all else fails. Kick DP up the ass and tell him to get it fixed

sorry can't think of fresh insight. Fuse, wire to console, switching it on. Nope. That's it.

The alternative is awful...however, you can get a MP3 cassette adapter for 97p in dixons/currys digital apparently!

If the power was cut then you would need the code to reset it, should be in the book that came with the radio. Otherwise you'll need to speak to a dealer.

Kicking DP up the ass would be loads better then the radio you have in the car at the mo lol

Power wasnt cut but he might have pressed a button, that he things is the immobilizer that made something light up on the dash....now the stereos not working hes saying he didnt press it.
But then, he came in and mentioned it...and I know he couldnt resist pushing a button...hes that sort
