I took mine out yesterday and regretted it!

Weather's so horrible, it's probably nicer to be inside. We went to the library this morning - that's quite an easy trip if you're up for something like that?

paulaplumpbottom · 29/12/2006 12:07

Take them for a walk for a bit of fresh air.

TheBlonde · 29/12/2006 12:10

I am staying in
Got flu. DH has gone to work
DS nearly split hot tea over both of us so is currently in the playpen

KTreePee · 29/12/2006 12:14

I'm staying in as I've been ill (still am...). Dh has taken the children out a couple of times but they are happy to chill out at home and have friends over to play.

Tommy · 29/12/2006 12:16

we're mostly staying in although going to theatre this afternoon. Haven't had anything else planned though.
Weather is foul and I always feel that if I'm rushing around tyring to organise stuff then it's the just the same as normal and not a holiday at all!

roseylea · 29/12/2006 12:21

I am luxuriating in being able to stay in with my dcs. They are having a nice time too!

They were both v. over-tired and crotchety towards the end of last term and they really need some decent down-time. So they are just playing with playdoh, colouring, 'making things', and playing with new christmas toys. None of us are even dressed yet! I'm not well either so it's lovely not to have to get everyone up and dressed ready for school / work / childminders. (I work in a school so I get the hols off - I do 3 days a week.)

I feel that by mainly staying in I'm giving the dcs exactly what they need - I don't want them exhausted before the new term even starts! (me too)

charliecat · 29/12/2006 12:23

here what happened when I took mine out I wont be bothering again!

danceswithreindeer · 29/12/2006 12:24

Yep, we are indoors most of the time. I'm feeling a bit housebound but just can't summon up the energy to get out and about (particularly as it is peeing it down outside) Back to normal next week though.

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 29/12/2006 12:24

Have mostly stayed in too. Went for a country walk on Xmas day and the boys played out the other day when it was dry. Has been lashing it down since then though.

foxtrot · 29/12/2006 12:24

We've either been out or had people over every day. DH is back at work. Agree with roseylea, its good for the LOs to hang out and play with all their new toys before the term starts again - preschool starts on weds, but primary go back on the 8th.

TheArmadillo · 29/12/2006 12:25

staying in as ill again and parents looking after ds until tomorrow when dp finishes work in afternoon and is off for another few days.

roisin · 29/12/2006 12:51

We are staying in: it's fab, I love it.

When my boys were little they needed daily exercise - a bit like dogs - otherwise they went bonkers. It's great now they're older. This week we are sleeping late, dressing late (very late), slobbing around. They have loads of new toys to play with, and no routines to keep: it's fantastic.

We still have next week off, and will return to our usual 'busy-ness' then, and get the decs down and the house cleaned up and tidied. But for now I'm lovin it.

(Dh is getting a bit stir-crazy though.}

Oh, and we also managed to completely forget ds2's piano lesson yesterday I must phone up and apologise.

LIZS · 29/12/2006 12:53

yup . Mainly becsue I sprained my ankle 2 weeks before Christmas and it is still sore plus the kids like lollign around and not being rushed around.

notanotter · 29/12/2006 13:04

I haven't left the house since visiting relatives on xmas day. Am venturing out in about an hour to see if wood burning stoves are in the sales yet. DH and I are after one as a xmas pressie to ourselves.

I'm full of cold though... the heady sort of cold that makes me feel dizzy. DH can drive. I probably won't be out long.

Loving staying in today after visiting and stuff earlier this week. Don't have to go anywhere, buy anything, see anyone. DH is working tonight so he's just relaxing in front of the tv, DD is upstairs still in her jarmies listening to Hannah Montana CD and on her DS. My little Power Ranger is here drawing dinosaurs.

I think everyone is happy not to be dragged out again.

roseylea · 29/12/2006 13:34

WE're still not dressed!

WideWebWitch · 29/12/2006 13:43

We went for a short walk yesterday and to the farm shop but other than that, we've just been in too and it's been lovely.

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 29/12/2006 20:07

We have been to the cinema, and to soft play today (dd2 got a nose bleed and we had to go after 45 mins though) but apart of that we have been in all week.

DimpledThighs · 29/12/2006 20:57

odd stroll in the park and cinema today but otherwise in the house. They won't be having a crap holiday, my ds moaned about going out today.

Reasons to stay in:

-weather

-want to play with new toys

-various films on / dvd's to watch

-ds knackered from last term, dd starts school in jan so needs to be rested

rachfran · 29/12/2006 21:09

We haven't been out for a couple of days. DD (19 months) and I have had lots of PJ days, haven't bothered to get dressed at all. Bath before bed and a change into clean pyjamas.
It's been lovely!
