Help me please !

My PC has finally given up the ghost and I am going to have to get a new one BUT there are some vital emails that I need to get hold of ...

PLEASE PLEASE can you tell me how I can get hold of them.
I cannot go through the usual route ( outlook Expresss ) but can still use the Windows Explorer ....

Funilly enough I can still remember DOS ( shows my age ) - but I just need to know what directories the emails are stored in ....

Can you help please ?

Thanks

They're there somewhere... I used to know where they were but we've upgraded form WinME to XP and they've moved!

Aha! In XP, mine are under c:\documents and settings\my logon ID\application data\identities\ If you've not got separate logon IDs, they're still in a similar directory - think it may have been "all users" instead of logon ID.

Then there are a number of folders with gibberish names. In each of these folders is one called "microsoft". In this, are the folders etc from OExpress. Each file is a long text string and eventually you'll come across your vital email (it helps if you can remember some text from it that you can search for.) If you copy these fils to a disk, you can import them ("import messages" I think) into a new version of OE. You may need to try several of the gibberish folders before you find the right one.

Good luck!

In Application Data there should be a folder called Microsoft? Then click on Outlook (outlook express).... hopefully they are in there.
