I've caught up with this thread really late but I wanted to say I hope the date goes well, Amanda. If it's any consolation, my dh is (comparing qualifications and salary) way out of my league (I'm not suggesting you are like me, btw) but it obviously didn't bother him. I was young and reasonably pretty back then so I did have that on my side. When we started going out, though, he was only about 4 promotions worth ahead of me. I've stayed the same whilst he has gone much higher up. When I introduce myself, people do a double take at my surname and check to see if I am dh's wife. If you need tips on being in the same field of work as your partner, let me know. I'm a bit of an expert on that by now, 17 yrs and 2 kids later.
