...I want to know about candy floss." said dd1 this morning whilst being subjected to the Today program. "I want to know when they're going to start sending a candy floss van round all the houses". Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

1. I don;t mind her hearing about politics and war and I do believe in teaching her about the world around us. but I have to say recent news has been more difficult. glad she still thinks candy floss is important

It can lead to awkward questions, can't it. And I find the questions often expose the huge glaring gaps in my knowledge of the world/politics etc.
