dh has been for an interview today for a job he would really like. It was a whole day event and there were 8 people for the job. The day consisted of things like profile testing, aptitude testing, role play, presentation and interview. He feels he did really well during all the practicals and in fact the other members of his group commented on this. However he doesnt feel he did brilliantly during the one to one interview. Being as though the practicals were more about what the job would entail, could that be enough to carry him through?

I have been an assessor a few times on these kind of assessment days, and we would call someone back if they didnt too well in the interview. In my opinion the whole point of these days is to fully assess someone without the nerves and contraints of a formal interview, so if he did well in assessments I would be encouraged that he will hear back from them for another interview.

His idea of 'not brilliant' might be several of the other candidates' idea of brilliant! Fingers crossed. We're waiting to hear about an interview DH had weeks ago (they're still doing first round interviewing!)

i expect so - some people just don't interview well. and interviewers do allow for people having an "off" day in interview, esp if candidate has done well in other tasks. good luck to your dh!
