just trying to debate whether to take DD to walk in centre as think she has a chest infection. Phoned gp who cant fit her in until wed am and she is prone to chest infections etc and with the asthma makes it a little worse. So do I go to walk in or do I wait till wed am??

Walk in.

Wednesday's light years away when they're ill.

Nemoinapeartree · 11/12/2006 10:50

think will go when I pick up DS thanks expat..I usually only take her when her breathing is a nightmare which isnt happening but she is quite rattly.

tbh I'm shocked that your gp wouldn't see her as a priority before Wed , given her history

Nemoinapeartree · 11/12/2006 10:55

lizs gp is a bloody nightmare or rather the receptionist is...she thinks she is second to god not a service we are entitled to!!!

Tbh I'd ring the stupid receptionist back and insist on an appointment make sure you tell her that last time H was like this she ended up in hospital and she needs to be seen today!

expatinscotland · 11/12/2006 10:57

Keep us posted, Nemo!

No reason why she should get worse to be seen just b/c your GPs receptionist is such a cow.

I'd trot her right into the walk in centre, lay it on thick and nip this thing in the bud!

DD1's got a hella cough - there's some bad stuff going around just now.

Cadeauxmum · 11/12/2006 11:09

I was hoping that this was not your post...

I am sorry that H is still poorly. Yiur GP's receptionist sounds like the one we had as well. What a nightmare.

I would also ring the GP again and remind them of her history and failing that (which I would expect if she is so difficult) then I would opt for the clinic. You can't really mess around with chest infections in asthmatic babies.

I hope she is better soon.

Will email when I get a moment. DD2 has a tummy bug and is really clingy. poor mite.

Our walk in centre isn't just for emergencies, but for minor illnesses and inuries. So I would definitely go to walk in. Would be really annoyed at GPs though.

Nemoinapeartree · 11/12/2006 12:53

well took her to walk in who said she does have a quite a bad chest infection but they cant prescribe anything due to her history so she needs to be seen at gp asap.Told them about the appointment and the nurse was fuming said just wait till I phone, surprisingly when she did phone there was an appointment for tonight at 5pm so we will be going then.

Nemo have you complained to the Practice Manager about that receptionist?

That's ridiculous!

Nemoinapeartree · 11/12/2006 12:56

expat I think she is the practice manager..shes a right cow even mil agrees. However if it is a bloke she speaks to she couldnt do enough. Have had loads of probs with her like time she thought I had left surgery and was going on about my depression to someone now granted there was only one other person in waiting room but was soo pissed off I was in tears.
