Ok.

Suggestions please.

My lovely BIL is flat broke.

We really pushed the boat out and scraped together £50 to give him for christmas.

I wrapped it round a tube of vodka rocks choccies.

His dad, my FIL, came here with prezzies yesterday, then went on to see BIL 50 miles away.

I gave the choccies and money to FIL to hand over, with the instructions to open today, as he could well use the money.

So FIL takes BIL out for a meal, hands over the gift, which is opened, choccies eaten and rubbish thrown away, along with the £50!!

I feel so sad.

a) because the £50 would have helped BIL out alot.
b) because £50 is a heck of alot of money to effectively throw in the bin! Something we can deffo not afford to do.

I suggested he go and search the bin, he said he would.

I doubt he will find it.

I rang the restaurant. It's closed til Tuesday!

If the money is in the bin inside, locked up, what do you do?

I know I should just write it off and forget it.
I'm just sad.

Oh that is so crap, so sorry for you. All I can say is that they won't keep the bins in a closed restaurant for two days so it will be thrown out today. Sorry no ideas.

Like I said to him, if the thought does count, at least he knows we were thinking of him.

I would like to think a tramp will find it going through the bins! Then it would still go to good use.
