HAs anyone used those sticky on bar thingies? The ones you use for backless low cut dresses? Are they any good? If you are not too big would it be better to run free instead?

I've used them and love them. But then I'm pretty small so don't really need support. I use them if the dress or top I'm wearing is translucent or even see-through, but otherwise I tend to run free.

lou33 · 16/05/2004 23:34

Thanks, do they actually give you a cleavage, or are they really just modesty panels?

essbees used them a couple of times.

marthamoo · 17/05/2004 08:16

I hear you can use parcel tape instead

lou33 · 17/05/2004 11:02

Well scratch that. My dress has now arrived and there is no way I can wear a bra at all! Anyone got some feedback on double sided tape to stop me from spilling out when I bend over?

marthamoo · 17/05/2004 14:11

Blimey, lou, just how skimpy is this dress?

expatkat · 17/05/2004 14:59

the stick-ons are modesty panels, loo. No cleavage, I'm afraid. I've never used double sided tape, but that sounds like a good idea just to keep the dress stuck to your chest.

lou33 · 17/05/2004 17:11

Thanks ExPK.

Moo, it actually covers quite a lot of me but it's quite stretchy, and the fabric is fairly thin

got these black-like cuppy things from Debenhams/ John Lewis, with glue in a tube...they had a double sided bit where you stuck the glue on and had to keep it pressed down for a few minutes for the glue to set...made them looked a bit odd shaped but stayed on...were £9.99..polystrene like (dh just said he liked them on)..

Does anyone know of a website you can get the stick-on bras from? I've run out and will need some quite soon. . .but won't have time to go shopping

lou33 · 22/05/2004 15:42

Here? I haven't used them though, but the site looks good.

expatkat · 22/05/2004 18:51

Lou33, thanks for that. I did a google search, but didn't find that site--mostly found Australian and US sites.

piffle, where's the emoticon for "green with envy." I often think how my life might be different if I were better endowed.

I used toupee tape when I was pg in a skimpy dress (don't ask). It was a marvel of engineering, hurt like hell to take off afterwards, but wow did I have a cleavage! (and nothing was going to slip)

Tommy · 22/05/2004 21:28

I used them for my wedding dress - they were just like big plasters (very romantic when the dress came off as youcan imagine!)but did the job
