Bees swarming outside front door and now on the landing and bathroom. Environmental Health hopeless - call council in the morning - any ideas in the shortterm to keep the bees outside - 2 small children 1 and 3, and no husband here today!!

any airvents/blocks etc, tape them up. make sure the doors/windows are sealed shut. if u have a cat flap, seal that too.

best of luck, i wouldnt be able to cope with it.

oooooh, how exciting. but obviously a pain. if the council can't help you, look in your yellow pages for beekeeper or apiarist, or do a google search for one locally, and call them. They will probably be happy to come and remove them and keep the swarm, or at least will have good advice. otherwise don't know what to suggest, except the swarm will follow the queen, and if the queen isn't in your house the bees won't settle there. It maybe that your bees in the house are just a bit lost, and if you keep as many windows open as possible they will go to wherever the queen is. If the queen is in your house you are in deep shit and I'd go and stay with a friend if you can't get a beekeeper around.

good luck"!

Poor you - how scary. You need a friendly bee keeper - here is a website with some names/tel.
beekeepers database . Hope you get some help soon.

Thanks all - update, beekeeper would not come as bees in the house - cavity wall actually!
Pest man very kindly came out and has sprayed all the entrance points so will hope to kill them all eventually. Bathroom out of bounds, and children thought it was great fun to bath in the kitchen sink!
Have opened the wine, and hope to sleep well and not hear any buzzing! Joys of country living.
