Is this realistic?

Exp currently has the children overnight, every other Saturday. As the children are now a bit older and I am knackered and worn out, I recently asked if he would consider taking them an extra night.

I had suggested either 2 nights one weekend or one night a week.

He has come back to me and said that he could have them on a Monday night as his girlfriend doesn't go into work until later on a Tuesday morning and I would have to collect them Tuesday morning to take them to school. I also get the impression that as is normal on a Saturday, he wouldn't collect them from me until between 6-7 pm on Monday night.

I told him that there was no point in going ahead if that was all he could offer and he now thinks I'm unreasonable and the whole thing has been engineered to piss him off.

Is that realistic as overnight contact? Or am I being as unreasonable as he thinks?

Yes, he could do that but he doesn't want to. He can't possibly not go to work, the whole place would just fall apart without him.

I think it does seem a bit pointless as they won't see very much of each other.
Is it not possible for him to take them to school/yours on a Monday morning? Then he'd have Friday night free with the gf (all right for some) and Sat am to recover.
