what can i do for my friend?

she has just found out that her mum has 3 months to live.
i have offered to look after her kids and told her to phone anytime she wants to talk.
is there anything else i could do?

How awful
Sounds like you have most bases covered but how about doing some ironing or cooking the odd meal for her?

This happened to my bf - and on the day her mum was admitted to the hospice her boyfriend dumped her by text !

You just have to be there for her - let her talk, let her cry and give her a hug. I had to take mine to the drs afterwards - she couldn't sleep and couldn't stop crying - doc gave her some sleeping tabs to help her catch up with herself.

You can only be there ! All I'd say is good luck and remember to look after yourself as it it really exhausting being there for someone like this ! I felt drained !

How about a reflexology voucher and offer of babysitting if you want to give her an actual pressie? A bit of time to just think about herself.
