I've got a Canon IXUS and by mistake have taken several pictures on the video clip setting. Is there a way of getting stills from these. Some of them are great pics of the kids and the computer won't print them

You would neeed to download the little video file to your computer, then you would need to find an application that can read them / edit them, then you just open the file and pause it at the right frame and then it should be able to do a 'Save frame as jpg' IYSWIM.

Having said that the quality will NOT be ANYWHERE near as good as a normal image as the recorded video is in a much lower resolution.

Actually, won't try that just yet:what do you mean by an application that can read/edit them? I am a complete techno dinosaur!

Well, any media player (probably) will be able to open the video file, but you need one which has a particular feature: the ability to save out an individual video frame as a still image... not all of them will do this IYSWIM. Possibly the Canon progs which came with your Ixus will do it but I'm not sure. Any decent video editting app should be fine.
