MIL has bought us a sky+ subscription for xmas as a family present. engineer booked for today between 10-1. just called them as no sign of engineer.

engineer has called in sick. fair enough. BUT WHY DIDNT THEY CALL US!!!

Typical! Once it's up and running it's brilliant, but trying to get an engineer out and instal the thing??? Practically everyone I know has had problems with Sky's lack of communication.

Settle in, it will be a long wait

I was just about to call the installer to get Sky+ as a joint Xmas present between dh & me. So fed up of not being able to watch the really good stuff cos it's on too late or at an inconvenient time. What about HD? Can you get that at the same time as + and if so, is it v. expensive?

they arent coming today now, so its been rebooked for wednesday.

ooh don't go there, when we moved from wales to england we had welsh telly for 6 weeks before sky finally got their arses into gear when DH got on the phone - they tried feeding him the same line they fed me about signals and it was impossbile to do what we were asking an hour later (over the month) several differnt people to talk to we finally got it sorted out. try telling as signal comm person they can't send a signal to a satilite properly DH was NOT amused in the slightest. still least they gave us £10 off the bill for our troubles.

It's delicate for us as expats. We're not supposed to have it (shhhh!) but everyone who wants it does get it. We use the address of our family in the UK, even though some people here get an address through the installation people. They must be laughing all the way to the bank as it costs a fortune over here.
