All about BBC1's The Musketeers. Come in & have a look at our beautiful Wordle. Because there's nothing to unite wenches in complete harmony like a computer telling us how often we've posted. Or what word we should be next to. Or if our Musketeer is fairly represented. And of course from thereonin we'd never do anything to skew any future Wordle analysis. Noooooooo.

Pffft is indeed fabulous. And Witter.
And what's wrong with an au pair.

Brotherly love is fab, but I'd prefer this variety if you don't mind....

Bed time for DS - laters...

Nothing at all!
Just think it's posh :)

Obs2015 · 01/10/2015 20:09

Sorry to hear of gifs Apricot. Have s nice weekend.

I have to tell you about ds1's school project that I have been helping building. One part of it was inspired by a wench. Can you guess who?

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:18

I know it's oooh la la, but thing is today I had to leave for work at 6.30 and DH often leaves just as early. So not really many other childcare options that cater for that, when it is sometimes an early start, sometimes a late finish but at other times I work from home. I would have to have a 13 hour-a-day nanny, but half the time pay her for time she wasn't working. DS goes to nursery (DD at school) but some days the nursery day is not long enough! (Other days I can pick him up at 2pm).

My life is weird anyway.

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:21

People on AIBU often criticise those who have au pairs Helen, which is why I said flame me. But it's more because some people are not nice host families and expect the earth in exchange for a pittance.

We are obviously lovely (honestly, we are), and my cooking is not pffft. Alexandre Dumas does say that Italian cooking is the worse in the world in the Count of Monte Cristo (I am part Italian).

LetUsPrey · 01/10/2015 20:21

What about an HBF au pair? That'd be quite fun Grin

Do tell Obs

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:25

YYYY letus. Never been offered a male au pair by agency though.

OH yes, do tell us Obs!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/10/2015 20:28

If I liked children I would love to be your au pair MLG Grin

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:31

Yay ww that would be fun.

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:34

I helped out with a school trip the other day, and can't help thinking I would be an awful teacher, as I would have such favouritism!

I would naturally just really like the enthusiastic kids who love everything and be annoyed with the ones who are always moaning. And the ones who don't listen. And the ones that deliberately wind up the other kids. I don't know how teachers do it tbh.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/10/2015 20:44

WW I do think actually liking children is a essential part of au-pairing

Go on thenObs - spill...

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 20:46

But ww could be the au pair who doesn't look after the kids, but just has wine etc with me?

And there could be someone else to pick up the kids etc.

Grin
LetUsPrey · 01/10/2015 20:48

I remember going through the careers stuff at school and them suggesting teaching to me. Even at the age of 15 I knew that wouldn't be a good idea Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/10/2015 20:58

Funny MLG I was just thinking that exact same thing, we could drink wine and do wenchy stuff and perhaps your DH could watch the kids? Grin

I know Helen it was that minor detail that stopped me working as an au pair when I was younger Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/10/2015 20:58

Oh where is Liv??

50 Nerds of Grey
'Remove your clothes and step into my dungeon' he ordered.
'What now, master?'
'Now I roll the dice to see if you're eaten by a giant squid'

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 21:13

The minor detail that stopped me being an au pair or even going on a French exchange was that I wouldn't be able to scoff everything in sight.

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 21:18

At my school we did a careers quiz to see what we should be and I got Vicar, even though it had not asked anything like "do you believe in God?". Also, I'm not sure if they had women vicars yet.

I would quite like to be the Vicar of Dibley though.

FancyFancy · 01/10/2015 21:23

Evening, nice to see a few wenches in here this evening. Feel in need of Wine, but suspect that would cause a headache . letus & morelike can have my share, sounds like they need it.

badders, you're too bloody organised!

obs tell us about the project?

Italian cooking is crap is it Dumas? Hmm And part Italian you say morelike?

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 21:24

I really like this Gif, so even though it is in Anne's gif selection, I wanted to post it again.

There's some excellent filth in the Snug Wink

FancyFancy · 01/10/2015 21:26

HELEN - I know you were being kind, but as nice and wenchy as morelike is, today is Thursday, and if you consult the rota you will find that Thursday's is mine & madame's night.

AnneEtAramis · 01/10/2015 21:28

I want to be a teacher and I can't wait. So over my current career in spite of being back with my friends. Just got back from another secondary school visit. History teacher just asked DS1 lots of questions about the Norman Conquest/Invasion delete as appropriate and he got everything right and she asked him if he learnt it at school 'no' he says 'I just taught myself.' Proud Mother. It's making me irrationally angry that it is the only school in the area that allows, in fact encourages the children to try more than one language.

Talking of linguists.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/10/2015 21:29

not to worry Fancy - the aramis was for looking at, not touching. It was following on from Badders posting Athos for Morelike

AnneEtAramis · 01/10/2015 21:31

I will forgive Dumas everything because he created The Count of Monte Christo where would the BBC be without him.

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 01/10/2015 21:33

Yes, when the Count goes to Italy to strike up a friendship with Mercedes' son, Dumas comments that Italian food is the worst in the world...

Only my grandfather was Italian, but we eat alot of Italian food!
