Digital camera buffs, advice please?

This looks like an incredible deal - is it? Is this camera any use? (Is it an actual SLR? Doesn't seem to say so anywhere but it certainly looks like one!)

I might get shot down in flames here...but I thought SLR was the film one not a digital, I've got a digital Nikon that looks like that, and its great but I don't think ts as good as the SLR one it replaced. That said I now have thousands of pics cluttering my computer instead of loads of undeveloped films!!! Have you tried googling it?

Thanks, lm! Have googled, found one review that sounds OK but would love a recommendation if poss.

SLR means Single Lens Reflex, what you see through viewfinder/screen is what the lens sees - it's all done with mirrors - as opposed to point-and-shoot which only gives approximate representation which is why people sometimes get heads cut off etc . Can be film or memory card.

Apparently Hub2Dee is the expert you need. I saw him give some very informed advice about a camera a couple of days ago.
