It's a new term so early to bed for the little darlings & back to the Muskeperving for us wenches. New pupils always welcome if you are taking Musketeers A-Level. You 4 new boys in leather can come & sit at the front where I can keep an eye on you And no guns in class. Now FOCUS you lot.

That's sounds lovely MintyEva Smile Where did you go? I'm a bit tempted by having "Afternoon tea with Mr Darcy" at the Regency Rooms Grin

Btw, if you like chic lit I can recommend Me and Mr Darcy by Alexandra Potter Smile

MrsEvadneCake · 01/09/2015 12:05

We went to a little tiny shop called Mad Hatter tea party. www.madhattersbath.co.uk

Mr Darcy never went to Bath in Pride and Prej!!!! Angry

Sorry I havent taken the Aramis challenge. Im too fookin knackered. Was doing interview task til 2am and then couldnt sleep for what felt like 2 hours.

Still, the fucker is done now. Im having a shit morning at work, so Im really looking forward to the interview tomorrow tbh. If I dont get it I think I am just going to quit this job. Decided not to tell boss about the interview in the end, so I now have to take half a days' holiday out of my non-existent remaining annual leave. Argh.

Hope all mini wenches are going back to school happily. Ds doesnt go back til thursday!

Hello to all returning wenches. Glad you had a good one apes!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/09/2015 12:56

Maybe he went there another time Madame Grin

Good luck tomorrow!

To be honest I rather have Afternoon Tea with a musketeer, but a less civilized one Wink

Cinnamoncookie · 01/09/2015 13:03

My DM and I had afternoon tea at the Pump Room some years ago. Twas luffly, and fabulous for people-watching. Highlights included the couple at the next table who sat in silence the entire time with faces like a pair of smacked arses, and the lady who went to taste the spa water and complained to her friend, "It tastes like bath water". Well, duh.

We also giggled a lot when the super-talented piano/strings trio played a medly of Rachmaninov and the Muppet Show theme

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/09/2015 13:13

You can buy some great stuff at "The Jane Austen Center" Grin

You know, if I was paying for a meal billed as 'Tea with Mr Darcy', I would be expecting Mr Darcy, on a platter, naked, covered in petit fours

IssyStark · 01/09/2015 13:38

Afternoon all! I'm back from the snotty brink and feeling almost healthly (just in time to go back to work tomorrow, after doing nothing on my BH weekend to do list). INSET day so DS is watching Stampy on YouTube and I'm finally catching up with life both in and out of the Tav. On my second load of the day, sorted out school uniform (got off lightly this year, only need more socks but he has enough pairs to get through to the weekend so we don't need to do it today; thank god for slow growing dc).

ww Bath is gorgeous and afternoon tea in the Pump Room is def an experience although there are lots of fab places. I was lucky enough to live there for most of a decade (and got married there in the Assembly Rooms), but oddly have not yet taken kids to visit so it's on the list for this year as ds1 is doing the Romans and we've already taken him to most of the Roman stuff within a stone's throw of . For city-centre pubs, I'd recommend The Old Green Tree on Green Street or The Volunteer Rifleman on new Bond Street. Bathonian Saturdays pre-dc: leisurely morning and head into town, do a bit of shopping then head to an early lunch and beer at the Green Tree with the Guardian quiz, meander up the road to Waterstones and spend afternoon browsing until it was time for tea, sober up with tea in the Waterstones cafe, buy books, head back home in time for the football results. Ahh, mis-spent youth.

MrsEvadneCake · 01/09/2015 13:41

That's was it ww it was lovely Smile

Well done one getting through the tasks madame sounds like you need a Brew and a cwtch.

Cinn that would be a very good afternoon tea!!

FancyFancy · 01/09/2015 14:39

Afternoon

I am very taken with cinn's idea of a proper aafternoon tea.

Agree Bath is lovely - I love a bit of Georgian & Regency architecture & it has added Roman history too.

Also am tickled by cinn's tale of the water tasting. I grew up in a spa town & have never tasted the stuff - I doubt any of the locals did, we all knew it was foul. Grin

Don't worry about the Aramis challenge madame it'll still be waiting for you after your interview. Good luck with that & I'm pleased you didn't tell your current boss. I think it was a bit off for your HR dept to say you should tell her.

FancyFancy · 01/09/2015 14:50

An aafternoon tea is afternoon tea in the West Country obv.

FMT

Badders123 · 01/09/2015 16:14

Alright?
Work very busy so went quite quickly.
Picked ds up and he had a good day, despite losing his coat. It's the first day ffs!
Dh is picking mum up at the airport poor Dh and I will go and see her tomorrow fun times
I plan to veg out this evening. Ds2 has no reading book yet and ds1 has had no homework either so I can legitimately ignore them tonight :)

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 01/09/2015 16:25

The boys are being pains in the arse. I actively want to kill them all. Babymouse is teething. Toddlermouse is trying to appease BM resulting in screaming and loud laughter. And refusing to his speech activities. Mr M has left an essay till last minute so I have to field the screamers whilst having awful pmt . Oh and I've cleaned everywhere. And Mr M keeps wanting me to read through what he's written and its making my brain melt.

And I really want to go to bath now. The wench experience of it sounds like bliss.

Arf at someone actually taking the waters though. Isn't that like drinking straight from the Thames?

Badders123 · 01/09/2015 16:33

We spent a weekend in bath pre marriage.
It is lovely.
Went to the baths.
Dh stuck his hand in the water despite the signs saying not to I told him he would probably get Roman crabs :)
I'm too tries to cook but am starving! hoped Dh hurries up

FancyFancy · 01/09/2015 16:35

I think the problem with spa water is the high mineral/salt levels that make it taste foul

IssyStark · 01/09/2015 16:41

I have drunk Bath water several times (usually to goad visitors to try, plus as a resident I didn't have to pay Hmm ). It tastes a bit like rotten eggs, rather sulphurous but it is something you could get used to.

IssyStark · 01/09/2015 16:43

mouse hope the day improves Flowers

bads anything in the freezer you can chuck in th microwave?

Badders123 · 01/09/2015 16:51

Dunno

Badders123 · 01/09/2015 17:18

Chips, mini chicken fillets and beans don't judge me :)
It's pizza day tomorrow as its football training. I might do a roast dinner on Thursday to make up for the crap less nutritious food.

Badders123 · 01/09/2015 17:20

Mouse....once Dh gets home and tea is eaten I am off upstairs for a Netflix session.
Am knackered. This working for a living thing sucks :) also, I'm not sleeping well due to night sweats but back to Dr tomorrow so hoping for some Advice.

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 01/09/2015 17:32

badders I have snuck off to my office games room. I can't hear any of them.

Maybe you need an early night?

MadamedeChevreuse · 01/09/2015 18:08

Afternoon!

Bahahaha at the Jane Austen "action" figure.

She does needlework! She writes letters to her aunt! She walks to the other side of the village without a companion!!!

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 01/09/2015 18:27

madame she can spot a cad at 50 yards! Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/09/2015 18:33
