Is this a Naff idea ???

Was just wondering if this was naff or a good idea really.
Because we will have so many rooms to decorate in the new house, i was going to make a page for each room and stick things on that we wanted for that room, like pictures from catalogues and paint swatches e.t.c .
Thought it might help the kids too as they could look for bits to stick on their room page.

fantsatic idea nutcracker adn you can spend happy moments looking through loads of yummy interiors and colours. The kids will have a ball cutting adn sticking too.

There's a special name for this .... Interior designers do it ....
They have a cork board for each room - and put :

Paint colours
Magazine articles
material swatches
Carpet samples

etc ....

Not Naff at all - and you'll save yourself loads of money !

There's an idea in a decorating book I have to use a shoe box like a room and decorate the inside of it so you have a 3D effect!

Thats a good idea Janh. I don't think i'd do it for all the rooms but i bet the kids would love to do it for theirs.
Thought it would give me a good idea of what things i would need to save for and show me what the finished room could look like.

sounds like a great idea as you can add to it as you see things and eventually get the room you want, rather than a room full of bits and pieces of all sorts of things like most of the rooms in my house are!

I did that Nutty, it was very helpful. I chopped up loads of pictures/colours/fabric, anything that caught my eye. It was also useful for helping dh to visualise what I had in mind as he has no creative ability whatsoever. Also, showed it to other people and they gave me ideas where I could pick suitable things up. Not naff, bloody genius
