Furry fucking creatures. Angry

Oh yes let's miaow at the door to each other and dig our way through the carpet and floor boards.Sounds like wolverine is trying to break into my bloody bedroom. I would open the door for him

Let's use our litter tray at 3am for the first time and excavate the lot for a piss.

Right. Try and sleep again. As you were wenches. Sorry to disturb you.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/08/2015 06:57

Urghhhh?!? how is it morning already?

MrsEvadneCake · 17/08/2015 07:26

thanks Helen

Swimming each morning for the DC this week at 9am. plus DH is in hospital this afternoon having his spinal injections. So lots of driving and a tricky day.

Baddz · 17/08/2015 07:35

Morning
God I'm knackered!
Sorry for all non sleeping, cat problems and hospital visits x
I am looking after my nephews today (and weds) so that'll be carnage :)
I am trying to decide whether to go and get the dc feet measured for school shoes....hmmm.....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/08/2015 07:40

urgh. Yuck Badders DS needs new shoes too - we got a cheap pair to last out the rest of the term a couple of months ago and he's gone through the soles already. We were near a factory shop on hols, but DH and DS didn't want to stop, so now I shall have to do pay full price and have the hell of DS in a shoe shop trawl Sad

MrsEvadneCake · 17/08/2015 07:50

Morning bads. Im leaving feet until I'm paid again. Secondary school uniform has been eye watering to buy. Sad

Enormouse · 17/08/2015 08:08

Morning

The cats sound cute, difficult to live with but cute.

Going out today with imbecile, we managed to get babysitters.

I got toddlers new shoes about 2 weeks ago but now baby is walking and creating carnage he needs shoes too. Clarks and McKillens are out as they guilt trip mercilessly. According to MIL they've been guilt tripping parents into shoes for at least 25 years.

Baddz · 17/08/2015 08:11

Oh god I know!
I've spent about £250 already :(
And today if they needs shoes/trainers etc it'll be ££££
Grr.

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 08:12

MMMMOOORRRRNNIIINNGGG FFFUUUUCCCKKKEEERRRSSSZZZ

Grin Brew

Hope you're all ok? Yuck to silly cats.
I have a clarks foot measure at home and buy online. Easier than dragging them all to the Shit Shoe Shop clarks in town where they get it wrong and don't have much selection.
Smile

Did a next basket yesterday.
Nearly £300. (Ok, so it included underwear and coats)
Did a logo'd uniform basket as well.
£150ish
Shoes? £150ish I reckon.
Then there's trainers/football boots etc. and bags. Pe kits. And they still need shoes and clothes, underwear, pyjamas for home.
Smile

Smile
Oh, and the back to school haircuts as well.

I hate this time of year.

Baddz · 17/08/2015 08:13

I like Clarks as they do good slip ons for older kids....they last ds1 AGES
and I've been going there for years so they don't do the hard sell on me
:)

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 08:14

Oh, xpost! Grin

Yes. Guilt tripping parents. And dint get me fucking started on girls shoes vs boys.
Gives me the fucking rage.
Aaaaarrgghhh it's coming now. The fucking rage.
Fuckers.

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 08:15

Oh yes, clarks do seem to last. And as I do it online and fit them myself it's much better.

But the fact remains that girls shoes are shit.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/08/2015 08:17

Thanks for the Brew

Some Swedish traditions Grin

Baddz · 17/08/2015 08:17

Ds2 always wants a shoe from the "girls" range! :)
They never try the old "have you got any shoe whitener" flannel on me now...I just fix them with my scary stare and slowly shake my head whilst shooting laser beams hatred from my eyes....

Baddz · 17/08/2015 08:20

I am really hoping their coats are ok for this winter.
I've got them their winter wardrobes which the way ds1 is going will last about 8 weeks
They are having their hair cut on Friday.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 17/08/2015 08:25

Morning. Sorry to hear about uniform woes all round.

Do you think it's reasonable not to give anything to teachers at one of DD's nursery? Her main caree, or whatever they call them, has gone without any me tion from the office, thenother main teacher was away for ages, now back but she Infoubd her unreliable. Then there is the new girl and the office staff. Well, only one of the office staff is not a fucking bitch ok.

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 08:25

Ah, mine grew out of them last winter, Sad although I'd got a couple of years out of them though and they will pass down.
Which brings me onto my next item wot gives me the rage.
Waterproof coats.
Thin ones for summer AND thick ones for winter.

The fucking rage.
Smile
Oh, and girls sizing vs boys!
Smile

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 17/08/2015 08:25

Carer not careeHmm

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 08:29

I've never given any teacher anything.
Except the one who went above and beyond for ds3 and made him something to help him stay calm and focused and not act like a shit , I got ds3 to choose some colours of yarn and gave her some balls so she could either keep it for herself or make things for other kids.

Otherwise no. But I do say thank you and I do get on ok with them.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/08/2015 08:36

Ebay for lightweight waterproof coats - or sales in the Factory Shop. I hope I've done the uniform thing now (Asda) but I'm dreading the shoes. Oh - need socks too I think.

Really ought to get on with RL - DS has been on the computer for over 2 hours, we haven't had breakfast, and DH is still asleep - hope he didn't have a 8:30 conference call or some such.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/08/2015 08:38

Drink - I'd not bother. If you feel you ought to go something, get Astrid to draw a generic thank you card?

Must go do RL... have just been lost in shoe websites. I think we need an outing.

LetUsPrey · 17/08/2015 08:55

Morning wenches. I am back with reliable(mostly) wifi and 3G/4G. Have caught up on the last thread and am just marking my place on this one.

CountryNorthOfHere was beautiful as always. The DC had a fantastic time. Lots of running about outside, climbing hills, etc.

I did spot some HBF but I think they were tourist ones and not local (which actually surprised me). Couldn't do photos due to hands full on one occasion and absolutely no way of sneakily taking a photo on the other, which was a shame because he was beautiful. The sort of man who can carry off a beard and a man bun.

Off for a shower and then school uniform shopping with the DC. Oh joy.

Will catch up fully later.

MiladyBeaWinter · 17/08/2015 09:14

Morning. I am still fucking freezing. PJs, Hoody, socks, winter duvet and a fleecy blanket and DS as a hot water bottle and it was still like the artic out there. Been up with DS since before 7, DH and DD still asleep. Maybe the tiny, smelly but presumably warm tent was the right choice.

Mine are back to school tomorrow so all uniforms are done . Brantanos for shoes if you've got one near you, do Clarks but without the hard sell. Plus I worked in a shoe shop as Sat girl and through uni so can still measure / ignore them. 3 in 1 waterproofs for coats - waterproof with a fleece you can zip in. Trespass do ok ones.

FolknNorah · 17/08/2015 09:28

Yes, I do the three in ones. It's hard when you've got a child who isn't a standard size though. So eBay is out as I can't send it back.

Fmsu.

AnneOfAramis · 17/08/2015 10:17

My mind boggles everytime this uniform stuff comes up. I am in for a shock when DS1 potentially starts a uniformed secondary school. I don't bother with back to school haircuts because they just get them when they need them and the same with shoes/waterproofs I just rummage around to find the last ones and their coats are waterproof and fleecy. slack parenting

We had a lovely day out walking and discovering some new playgrounds. Today we are off to the sister museum of our most fave museum.

Mouse - my FIL shaved - yes shaved DS1s head whilst I went to a job interview at 8 weeks old after expressly being told we would not be doing it a second time they made us do it at 7 days it still makes me fume and he is 9!
