Does anybody have a receipt for a Sony or Dell laptop they could lend me??

Okay, short version:

1. I was broken into and my Sony laptop was stolen
2. My insurance company has stated they wont pay out until I can provide some sort of receipt
3. I dont have a receipt - Dell was a gift, Sony was a gift / upgrade from my dad who does not have a receipt
4. DH threw a strop to insurance company
5. They have now stated as long as I can provide a receipt for a Sony Vaio or Dell laptop, they'll pay out, as long as I have a note from the name on receipt to state it was sold on to me.

Can anybody help? Long shot I know. But it would be very much appreciated

did they buy it with a credit card?

Hi - not paid on credit card, paid cash. Was through Ebay. No record on Ebay (acc closed).

if it was bought on ebay there must be some sort of record of it

Did the ebay seller leave you feedback? then it shoudl be on your record.

did you ever have it repaired? we had laptops evalued then replaced by insurance company at a later date.

I may well be able to get you a Dell receipt. What sort of value are you talking? Think my sisters one was cheapish. She's away until Wednesday morning though, so can't ask her until then.
