was thinking of 'opening' one.

i make cushions and lavender bags and advent calenders and so on. also been importanting gorgeous moroccan bowls etctec. have been doing markets and private sales

was pondering an ebay shop. looks pretty complicated. would love to get an handle on how it works, if its profitable etc

and also, whether one can email 'the shop', as it were, to friends and so on

I have one! The main difference is that you can have cheaper listings although they are not as visible in searches as normal auctions. If you go ahead make sure you have a combination of auction/ buy it nows and shop items. Promote your shop through the normal auctions.
I think you can have a free 30 day trial to se if it suits you.
