My dog is gross!

Just want to point out that we have laminate flooring throughout our entire house. We have 1 rug on the living room floor. My dog isn't well, he keeps disappearing into the garden and returning followed by a vile smell

Well, he just started heaving while he was standing on the rug. I tried to move him but I was too late. I went to get some babywipes to clean it up, when I returned, he had started eating it I know it would mean I haven't got to clean it up but its disgusting!

urgh, my dog does the vomit-eating thing too....

the worst thing about a dog being sick is the heaving / stomach sqeezing type noises beforehand...

brrrr, grim....

kid · 18/11/2006 22:46

He has taken himself upstairs to bed. I hope he makes it back down before having any more accidents. I don't fancy having that smell in my bedroom.

But does you dog eat its own poo? My dog does, no wonder his breath is so bad {grin]

yep, he eats his own poo, he eats the cat's poo, he eats and rolls in other dog's poo when on a walk, and his fave activity is licking the crotch of dirty, discarded knickers (usually found on the bathroom floor when dd did not get to the toilet on time...)

He is gross!!!

kid · 18/11/2006 22:51

ok, your dog is worse than mine!

handlemecarefully · 18/11/2006 23:03

Why do we bother with our dogs - got to admit their habits are vile!

mytwopenceworth · 18/11/2006 23:07

great. after reading this thread i need you to bring your dog round to my place to clean up.......

NutterlyUts · 18/11/2006 23:09

To stop him eatin his poo, feed him pineapple =) For some reason, they won't eat it once its come out the other end!!

kid · 18/11/2006 23:14

I did read about the pineapple thing, but have yet to try it.

This is why I'll never get a dog. Yuk.

Drusilla · 18/11/2006 23:18

Loads of dogs eat their own sick - my friends eats others dogs sick! And our dog, given half a chance, will munch happily on the contents of DSs' poo filled nappy

peegeeweegee · 18/11/2006 23:23

Why do we bother with our dogs...

Apart from the sick and poo incidents (which are not very frequent), they are great fun, loyal, loving, get you walking in the woods and enjoying it even if you did not feel like walking in the woods, they make you feel loved and valued..., and make you feel safe when home alone... (even though my dog is only a dopey spaniel..)

handlemecarefully · 18/11/2006 23:24

My little daschund / jr cross lept onto the sofa whilst I was changing ds' bottom (yes, I admit it's not 'nice' to be using the sofa for nappy changing duties) and licked his bum before I could swat her away - bleurgh!

handlemecarefully · 18/11/2006 23:24

Ok peegee - I admit you have a point there!

Drusilla · 18/11/2006 23:34

DS loved it when the dog got a crafty lick of the bum in! It used to make him roar with laughter! Foul. But I love the old mutt dearly

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/11/2006 23:40

oh yes i love trying to change a wriggling baby while trying to keep the dog out of his crotch. such fun. he thinks vaseline is candy so it's even more of a draw to the ds...

handlemecarefully · 18/11/2006 23:42

Yes my ds giggled uncontrollably too whilst I grimaced a gurned a look of total disgust.

Love my dogs too - but absolutely won't let them lick my face!

juliaplustwo · 18/11/2006 23:48

My dog will eat anything, he has eaten all of the vile things listed here. After my dd was born at home, while I was being stiched and dh & other dd were cooing at new baby, dog crept in and ate the placenta mw left in plastic bowl on the floor.

Drusilla · 18/11/2006 23:48

PMSL at all of this! I'm so glad I'm not the only one with an baby arse licking dog

Drusilla · 18/11/2006 23:49

Just PMSL even more at the placenta story!! Where you planning on doing something with it before the dog ate it?!

juliaplustwo · 18/11/2006 23:56

No plans no. MW seemed a bit horrified, but it was really no more than I would have expected from him, he ate a dirty nappy last week.

Drusilla · 19/11/2006 00:01

Dontcha just love em. Someone I know has a small holding and had the vet out to show her how to castrate her own calves. Just as the balls popped out her dog came sniffing along and wolfed them down before anyone could say anything

juliaplustwo · 19/11/2006 00:18

My dog had his balls removed resently, maybe I should of got the vet to put them in a jar he could have had them.

bottomlessburp · 19/11/2006 00:31

much more effective than pineapple is adding raw grated courgette to doggys dinner and he will not eat his poo ever again!
