YY to cleaner. I have 2, they do 1.5 hrs a week. I still do a lot too though cos they don't do any hoovering.

MrsEvadneCake · 05/07/2015 16:26

I would like a cleaner but the place is so messy I would have to have a good clean and tidy before they started!!

Mavis did the laser hurt?

I had three whole hours to myself. I bought craft things and had cake.

chaiselounger · 05/07/2015 16:55

I haven't had a cleaner for years, but I have had them. Great.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/07/2015 16:56

Mmm Cake

MavisGrind · 05/07/2015 17:31

I'd like a cleaner and a gardener. One day

The lasering didn't hurt that much although one session did and that was fucking awful! I had them about 3 months apart for nearly two years.

I've taken the dog out for a walk and bought chocolate. Which kind of undoes the walk. Never mind.

MrsEvadneCake · 05/07/2015 17:39

I do have my lawn mown...so at least the front garden is not a jungle.

Wow that took a lot then Mavis

I could just eat chocolate. I'm on a massive carb crave.

FancyFancy · 05/07/2015 18:04

Having just mown the lawn a gardener seems appealing Grin

I used to have a cleaner when the children were smaller & would definitely think about getting one again when I go back to work, unless the DC are prepared to do all the cleaning for more pocket money. What I used to love was returning from holiday to a clean house, makes it less depressing.

LetUsPrey · 05/07/2015 18:26

I'd love a cleaner but we'd have to tidy first I suspect.

Finally watched the last episode of Wolf Hall today whilst ironing.

And this was on Tumblr

I'm pleased to not be the last to finish watching Wolf Hall letus - I watched the last one last week.

I saw a few minutes of Dustin Brown playing yesterday & wondered whether you were watching too Grin

LetUsPrey · 05/07/2015 18:35

Saw some of it Fancy Grin. Saw some of Gilles Simon's match too. Wink

Alibabsandthe40Musketeers · 05/07/2015 19:10

Checking back in after exhausting weekend at themeparkforsmallpeoplemadeofbricks We have had a great time but I am seriously knackered.

I have a cleaner, she does 3 hours a week. I love it because it makes me have a massive tidy up every week so the house is rarely never a tip. Dooooooooo iiiiiiiiit Flops

Right must go and do unpacking and wash the dirt off the DCs. Laters Wenches.

Baddz · 05/07/2015 19:18

Ali...we are off to that place for ds2s b day in September!
Busy day. Out til 4ish.
Got to iron the uniforms for tomorrow yet. Grr.
Busy week coming up. Lots of school stuff. Both DC pretty tired. Ready for our hols on Saturday! innortheasternseasidetown
Dh is off the week after too so will have some days out.
Both DC need showers etc so better go and supervise....
Laters x

LaComtess · 05/07/2015 19:39

Evening all

Am in middle of massive tidy up to try and be organised for next week.

No cleaner here. Regime enforced by over active husband who never sits down, hence it's pretty shipshape here (when he's here. Hmmmm

Flopsy28 · 05/07/2015 19:59

To be fair, DD is great at helping, DS, not so much. DH has one day 'off' a week but always finds 'man jobs' to do which means no toilets are cleaned or floors hoovered but the fecking coat cupboard has been rearranged or the shed has been tidied

I could easily do it myself but I've lost motivation for so many things. Work is all-consuming and then put 2 DC and their multiple activities and I'm knackered come 8pm when it is logical to do some jobs.

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/07/2015 20:37

flops I would get one if I were you. You dont need the extra stress or physical strain right now!

MrsEvadneCake · 05/07/2015 20:41

Flops I find it hard work doing full time and the DC, I don't have as much paperwork as a teacher. If you can afford it then go for it. I will after Christmas when we are better financially. I can't wait until then, to have cleared the left overs after DH's illness will be a weight off my mind.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/07/2015 20:45

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! WellDog has puppies

Baddz · 05/07/2015 20:47

I love the theory of having a cleaner...
But I am far too working class to ever have one Smile
As Comtesse says....I would feel I was "getting above my station" ridiculous, but there you go.
I hate cleaning. Which is ironic, considering how much I do! But I also don't like clutter and I like tidiness which takes effort with 2 DC and a Dh who often comes in and starts soldering on the dining table Hmm
Really need to get organised this week...lots of holiday stuff to sort as well as all the school stuff going on. Discos, sports day, trips, assemblies.....sigh.
And then I have a hair appt on Friday afternoon which will take bloody aeons (or at least it seems to)
Am also at the volunteer centre tomorrow too.

FolknNorah · 05/07/2015 20:48

No cleaner here, we couldn't have afforded one for ages and I wouldn't be allowed one now anyway.

Still no writing mojo to be found so still no more writing has been done,am alone tomorrow though so hopefully I can relax and get some done. Smile

Hope everyone has had a good weekend?
Must be Orf to do my duty...laterz

FolknNorah · 05/07/2015 20:49

And yes, I'm with baddresz and comtesse, I'd quite like a cleaner but would feel a bit squicky about it for about 5 mins
Grin

MrsEvadneCake · 05/07/2015 20:52

Those puppies are so sweet!!

Baddz I'm the same this next two weeks:non stop things with school and activities. The first week of the holidays my DS has summer school at his new school too, to help him settle.

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/07/2015 21:02

comtesse I cant believe you don't have a cleaner! Where do you both find the time? Impressed.

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/07/2015 21:09

Currently rewatching Commodities. Have been rewatching s1 with ds in preparation for wenchvac. Id forgotten how damn good it is. And I really missed the music in s2.

Ds is so into it. He made an aramis sword and gun today. Grin

BloodyElkFire · 05/07/2015 21:11

Evening wenchypeeps

How on earth have a missed nearly a whole thread and a good chunk of the next one fgs? I've raced through so if I've missed the salient points then I apologise. So, channelling Comtess I thought I'd list what I've taken in....

  • Welldog has puppies and they're very cute....nawwwwww, congratulations Welldog and Wellerr
  • Minty has a tat. Fab....I've often thought about it, but again its the boredom factor with me, i'd be worried I'd go off it and then be stuck with it. That's why we never bother with wallpaper.
  • Yay, Babymouse is walking...woohoo! He and babyElk are on some sort of symbiotic wavelength, BabyElk also started properly this week and has been charging round like a loon...makes bed time a damn sight easier though as she's so knackered she passes out in seconds Grin
  • Flopsy.....What on earth?

Anyway, that's about as much as I can remember.

MrsEvadneCake · 05/07/2015 21:18

Comtess I think I need you to organise me and my DS!

Yay BabyElk walking! Aww those little feet. My two have great big boy feet now complete with hot feet socks.
