Can anyone offer advice on a 42 year old woman verbally slandering a 17 old boy to anyone who will listen. My daughter and her two friends (1 male 1 female) started up a drama group. Everyone was supportive at the beginning but when they saw they were serious and doing really well this woman started harrassing them. They were getting phone calls asking if they had insurance etc etc which they did but had absolutely nothing to do with her.
She held a meeting at half time during one of her shows with us including me (a mum)to warn us that we had to stop poaching her kids. We were helping in the orchestra and with hair etc backstage. She did not even have the decency to thank us for giving up 7 days of our time to help he. She also got another drama teacher to attend the meeting to warn us also about poaching their kids. Her parents applogised for her behaviour as they know she is doing wrong.
We decided from the outset that everything would be done by the book and they have done none of the things they have been accused of. We have ignored all of this since summer and thought we had a reprieve when she decided she was suing another company who got a show licence before her, thus preventing her from doing her show first. But this week it has started up again. We got a licence for a new show and wanted to advertise it in the paper. The paper told us someone else claimed to have it also. To cut a long story short the other person had jumped the gun and sent us a lovely card appologising for the confusion and wished us well. The next day he phoned back saying our male member of the group really had to stop poaching other groups kids. It turned out she had phoned him telling him all the lies and stories she had been telling everyone. The upsetting thing is because she is so respected in the theatre field everyone is taking her word and not believing them. All this from a woman who put a show on last week and did not pay for the licence which is a definate no no. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this stopped. PS the male member of the group is the same age as her own son.
