Have read thread, can't remember much except for Aramis's eyes; most wenches don't like the heat; a few like it & no puppies yet. God I hate hot weather, my brain doesn't want to work & it upsets my stomach.

Not quite as bad as issy & her jam, but friend & I tried to recreate specialitycakefromourhometown this morning. Baking the stodgiest cake possible on the hottest day of the year so far?

DS1 has had what was verging on a panic attack because he's realised he has some homework due in tomorrow which he hasn't done. The fact I told him to check earlier this afternoon but he didn't is still somehow my fault. He's been demanding and then begging to do it now. Nope. Do it in the morning. Many tears, much shouting, much inability to control himself. Woke DS2 up with his shouting.

He claims he was never actually given the homework, teacher is a liar, etc, etc, although how he knew there was homework to check for I don't know. He would be mortified to not hand in some homework. Seems to have calmed.

He's on a sticky wicket after a similar performance last night re going to Mondaynightsportingactivity resulting in a computer and all device ban.

I'm burying my face in a vat of Pimms.

Have probably just pissed off the neighbours with young children - FancyCat was crouched in the road locked in a staring contest with her archrival, so I went out to get her in. She thought the cavalry had arrived & flew at him, caterwauling at full volume on their driveway. I then had to crunch across their gravel, clap loudly to break the fight up & exit, carrying one very pissed off cat who grumbled & growled at me the whole way home.

Should have just done strawberry but as the point was to make space in the freezer by using some of the EU redcurrant mountain before this year's harvest, I spent about an hour destalking a kilo of redcurrants.
