So, we have passed our 100,000 posts of Musketeer-related musings & as befits such an achievement, we got our shout-out on Twitter from Jess Pope Grin Any lurkers out there, come on in & state your boffing order.

In the spirit of celebration, I am also imposing the rule that everywench's first post in here has to be accompanied by a pretty Musketeers pic. Don't let me down now mis wenchitas.

Oh God Issy, postpone that, surely? Jam making is like the 7th circle of hell at the best of times!

chaiselounger · 30/06/2015 17:29

Hoping you all all cool, in the heat.
I have been inside all day watching films.
Unlike alibabs who has a cooked chicken, I have nothing prepared fur dinner. Oh dear.

ApricotCrush · 30/06/2015 18:15

Now, you see, I love the heat and have been out in it all afternoon.

Glad the play went well Cinn.

Sad about John Noakes.

Grin Mouse.

Issy did you see that Mumsnet microwave jam-making video. It's what I'll do next time I'm given a load of fruit.

Off to find some Wine

LetUsPrey · 30/06/2015 18:17

Evening wenches. Have RBNRM. Hello MoreLike

It's too fucking hot. I don't like it. I'm all sweaty and it's horrid.

IssyStark · 30/06/2015 19:48

apes thanks for the link - looks easy but unfortunately I have about 3kg of fruit to do stuff with (our every abundant redcurrant a and some strawberries we got at a pick your own on Sunday). Hope there's something decent on the radio after the kids are in bed and I'm stuck in the kitchen Hmm

Oh and John Moakes has been found not far from his house and is recovering in the local hospital. Smile

Flopsy28 · 30/06/2015 19:59

Hey wenches, I like the heat as long as I'm not busy in it Hmm I love holidays when you can lie in it with beer and a book. Working in a greenhouse classroom though with irritable children...not so much.

That explains the needing chocolate last night and wanting to kill Mr M for giving off too much heat and breathing in a completely inappropriate way.

That ^ was the best line so far today mouse! Why are men so annoying? Poethos wouldn't breathe inappropriately.

Flopsy28 · 30/06/2015 20:00

Porthos wouldn't either

Enormouse · 30/06/2015 20:03

Welldog has a live labour thread:

Link here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2413827-Live-labour-thread-anyone?

No puppies as yet.

Enormouse · 30/06/2015 20:05

I have come out with some classics today flops. Blush

I think I'll just avoid all forms of society and people till the blob is over.

FolknNorah · 30/06/2015 20:10

Ah, don't do that mouse unless it means you'll be busy doing something productive I suppose....
Mind you I can't do anything in the hot weather. Can I ask the wenches, why is there the choice to bring dc's into school in the winter if there's snow, bit not if it's boiling hot in the summer? It can't be good or healthy being cooped up in a stifling classroom and it's too hot to do anything outside other than sit in the shade (if there is any).
Do you know what I mean?

Alibabsandthe40Musketeers · 30/06/2015 20:38

Norah I do, and I worry because the attitude is often - 'hurrah lovely sunshine, we shall be out in it all day'. Which is a disaster when you are DS1 who is blond as a wheatfield and burns if he so much looks at the sun.
I send him in with his collar turned up on his polo shirt to protect his neck and the sides of his face, and he knows to head for the shade when he can. I am absolutely 'that parent', and tomorrow morning I will be making sure there are no mad plans for the day.

His actual teacher is lovely, she is very fair skinned herself and I'm sure would rather be indoors with the windows open, but the head is a bit St.Trinians about the benefits of being outdoors Hmm

chaiselounger · 30/06/2015 20:54

Ds2 has sports day tomorrow. My mum reckons children shouldn't even be running around in such heat.

FolknNorah · 30/06/2015 21:12

See, I'm like that, I think it's a disaster waiting to happen, it's the exact opposite problem to when we have snow, we don't have it often enough to be geared towards dealing with it but that doesn't mean it's less of a problem.
I also find that while I'm expected to be sympathetic to other people moaning about the weather when it rains or is cold, I get absolutely none.

morelikeguidelines · 30/06/2015 21:16

But, but, but... hurrah lovely sunshine!

morelikeguidelines · 30/06/2015 21:17

PS, Hi Letus

morelikeguidelines · 30/06/2015 21:18

PPS, it's actually quite cold in my house.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/06/2015 21:49

Evening all.

Long day. It's hot. I'm knackered. erm... that's it.

Badders
Cinn - glad it all went well and you avoided the Calais rubbish
Floppers I hope the conference and stats were bearable
Welcome Back MoreThan I thought the 'come straight back' comment was all of the suggested
for all overheating wenches> Grin

I sent DS to school coated in sun cream, but he does seem to tan quite nicely rather than burn (no idea where he got that from)

In other news, I'm eating a magnum and DS has a sleepover with my parents . Yay!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/06/2015 21:56

Night wenches Grin

Baddz · 30/06/2015 22:12

Hello wenches.
Thank you for all the thoughts and kind words...much appreciated x
Today has been as shit as I expected.
Perhaps even more so actually as at 5pm da2 called me upstairs to find him pissing blood.
Trip to gp later and he may have a uti (I dont think so) or a tight foreskin which may need surgery.
So that's nice.
Feel pretty crappy generally - am off to gp myself tomorrow might ask about renting a chair in the waiting room
So, night night lovely wenches.
I shall try to be less miserable tomorrow x

WellErrr · 30/06/2015 22:13

Evening wenches!

What a day, took the nippers to the beach, everyone got too hot and emotional, and DS went apeshit when the half eaten lolly he planted in the sand had 'been taken' half an hour later. The thieves had just left a damp lolly stick in its place, the sneaky bastards.

And I'm vair concerned about Welldog and wish she'd just have them.

helen your child free, magnum filled evening sounds AMAZING!

morelike your cold house sounds lurvely!!

to everyone enjoying haha the heat.
It was 28 here today at 5pm....!

WellErrr · 30/06/2015 22:14

Awwww baddz

Flopsy28 · 30/06/2015 22:24

well that made me Grin about the 'sneaky bastards' having the lolly.

Night all.

Flopsy28 · 30/06/2015 22:27

Can't wait to see what his character brings.
