DD spilt a cup of milk on her bedroom carpet a few days ago, it really stinks! I thought the advice was to put baking soda on it which I have just done....now i've checked some old messages on here and it seems it should have been bicarb of soda. What is the difference? Will baking soda acheive the samething?

Baking soda and bicarbonate of soda are the same thing (I think) but baking powder has other ingredients. So, yes, if it's baking soda it should work. Baking powder, however, might not be as effective.

I think I'll giver bicarb a go too, anything to get rid of this awful smell!
