because he lost his green one .. but DD's is still here .. and they're the perfect size and shape

he doesn't mind using it when its the family .. but will other boys take the mick because of the colour?

ahh stick some spiderman stickers or the like on it and he'll be fine.

indignatio · 15/11/2006 12:10

You know you shouldn't - or you wouldn't have posted

Twiglett · 15/11/2006 12:13

you're right .. I know I shouldn't but then I second guess myself and wonder why I'm being so gender biased and how pathetic that is and its only a colour fgs etc etc etc

Yes but it is LILAC which I am sure you know is only one small step down from the ultimate girl colour of PINK

Bozza · 15/11/2006 12:14

It might rather concentrate his mind on looking for the green one if it is lurking in a corner at school.

I sent DS with his rather old Winnie the Pooh one when he lost two others and what should happen but one reappeared.

NotAnOtter · 15/11/2006 12:15

i would send it

indignatio · 15/11/2006 12:16

STOP PRESS Lilac is the new pink

NotAnOtter · 15/11/2006 12:18

but then i like lilac on boys!

Twiglett · 15/11/2006 12:24

now I'd say that was light purple .. not enough pink in it for true lilac

think clothes are different

unfortunately DS left green one in the playground and teacher wouldn't let him go get it when he remembered (quite rightly) and someone else, I assume, has snarfled it .. at least it wasn't in Lost Property

Well I suppose I got off cheaply yesterday then when DS came home wearing only one sock. Am contemplating whether or not I can be bothered to go rummaging around in the skanky lost property for a sock.

GoingQuietlyMad · 15/11/2006 12:32

Let's be honest, you know deep down the answer. Kids are really brutal and very shallow (about things like that anyway).

Not worth the risk of being known as "Lilac boy" for the rest of his life. You know what boys are like. Having said that, nicknames often become a badge of honour - "fatty" etc

Clary · 15/11/2006 12:39

bozz snort at yr post - losing a sock! Was drinking a glass of water at the time so not good.

Twig - the answer is yes, it would be cruel.

BudaBeast · 15/11/2006 12:44

DS would refuse point blank.

Purple/lilac or whatever are "girly" colours in his narrow-minded little world!

For the future try www.stuckonyou.biz for fantastic labels that stay on even throught he dishwasher. All DS's cups have labels on and he has left at least 3 in various places and they always come back.

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 15/11/2006 12:49

I would send him with it. But then , I am a meanie.

Bozza · 15/11/2006 14:08

I have decided that the sock can remain in lost property, should it have made its way there and been and bought some more in Next. He was getting a bit short anyway, due to the habit of launching his clothes round the room while getting undressed.

Another issue for you twig. What will DD's take be on this? Mine would hit the roof if I sent DS to school with her Dora bottle.
